The Dedication and Journey Behind This Approach
Michelle Trabelsi created this approach with a clear vision and dedication. As a fitness professional, she has spent more than three decades building her expertise. Over thirty years ago, she began teaching martial arts. She focused on core principles such as focus, mental strength, and discipline, which became the foundation of the Bootie Camp™ Fitness approach. Over the years, Michelle expanded into yoga, teaching power vinyasa yoga for more than twenty-five years. With her yoga and martial arts experience, she created an ideal foundation for the fitness method, making it both mentally grounding and physically intense.
Michelle’s background in martial arts focused on the arts of Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan and Tang Soo Do, which both provided her with immense precision, breath control, and balance. With a sense of the importance of breath as a source of focus and power, Michelle carried that into her yoga instruction. Over the years, she developed her own teaching style, blending hatha and vinyasa yoga into her practice, which she calls Power Flow & Balance. This blend emphasizes strength, alignment, and mindful awareness of the body’s limitations, enabling people in her classes to build strength effectively and safely.
The Birth of the Camp
Bootie Camp™ Fitness was created by Michelle and offers classes for boxing fans, yoga enthusiasts, and anyone interested in strength workouts. These programs became more popular and reached a wider audience through one of Michelle’s first popular methods, the Bootie Camp Yoga® method. Michelle began Bootie Camp Yoga® almost accidentally, simply by experimenting with sequences and movements. Her Yoga method is a high-energy class that combines both body-sculpting exercises and power yoga. This method sparked interest when she introduced it to Gold’s Gym and the YMCA in Temecula. Word spread quickly, expanding her classes into other cities, such as Las Vegas. With this gain in popularity, the Bootie Camp Yoga® method was recognized by the fitness industry, leading to its winning the Best Group Fitness Class in the Inland Empire in 2014 and 2018, as well as a feature in American Fitness Magazine.
With this growing success, Michelle began to expand this method into other workout formats.
Bootie Camp™ Boxing combines heavy bag work and martial arts, which officially inspired Michelle to create a new method, the Bootie Camp™ Barre, inspired by classical ballet movements.

Bootie Camp Barre®
Bootie Camp Barre® is one of the most adored programs in the Bootie Camp™ lineup. The workouts within the method merge classical ballet with Michelle’s signature Bootie Camp Yoga® burn. Participants in this class move through graceful ballet-inspired positions whilst engaging their lower body and core through high-repetition movements, making it an intense, but elegant experience. With this class, you feel muscles working in ways they haven’t before. The goal of Bootie Camp Barre® is simple: build a strong, tight core and sculpted lower body whilst simultaneously perfecting ballet and yoga postures.
The barre class markets itself as the “Ultimate Butt Class”, and whoever participates immediately discovers why. Each movement in the class is designed to target the glutes, both activating and supporting the muscles. With balance-post hold and controlled-pulse exercises, your muscles are pushed to their limit whilst maintaining proper posture and alignment. The emphasis of the class is on mobility and flexibility, which helps participants develop balanced strength throughout their bodies. Once you’ve reached the end of the session, you will leave feeling energized and accomplished.
Alongside the bodyweight movements in the class, simple equipment is used to enhance the workout. Bootie Camp Barre® recommends bringing a yoga mat to your class or wearing grippy socks for added stability and balance. The class, however, offers specialized Arabesque grippy socks for purchase. These small details help ensure that everyone in the class can perform each movement safely and with strong balance during their session.

Bootie Camp™ Strength
As the Bootie Camp™ brand continued to expand, Michelle introduced another powerful program: Bootie Camp™ Strength. This class combines intense movements from other Bootie Camp™ methods to create a high-intensity full-body workout. During the class, participants are taken through a sequence of strength, barre, and core exercises whilst still maintaining the original Bootie Camp™ burn. With this class, you build power, total-body strength, and endurance.
The method is accessible to anyone who wants to try it out. Although the class includes challenging workouts, it is still designed for beginners and more advanced individuals. Each movement in the class can be modified to suit each individual’s fitness level, allowing everyone to progress at a comfortable pace. This inclusivity shows how Michelle believes that both flexibility and strength can be achieved by anyone at any stage of life. Living Actively at Any Stage of Your Life
Michelle portrays an important testament to the methods she teaches. She is a sixty-one-year-old mother of three children and a grandmother to five grandchildren, yet she remains adventurous and active. She takes part in many hobbies, including paddleboarding, strength training at the gym, hiking, and rock climbing. This diversity in her passions shows that she believes life should be full of energy, creativity, and curiosity.
