“I can do that.”
How many times have you said that to yourself? Maybe the idea comes from watching a video, glancing over an article, or reading a book. You finish and think, well – how hard can it be? If they can do it, you can do it.
Well, that’s what conventional wisdom would have us believe. Anything is possible. You can do whatever your heart desires. You can readily find more information about any subject than you could ever read or watch.
Information is at our fingertips, and knowledge on any topic is available at the speed of light. Since the rise in the availability of the world’s knowledge, many have taken it upon themselves to learn a new hobby or… start their own business.
That’s part of the beauty of this age. It’s never been easier to figure out – if what you want to do – is something you were “meant” to do. Can that hobby you are enjoying become a job? Will the crafting you are doing now become a source of income? You only have to try, and you will soon know.
This is what one new mother experienced. She found herself with a need, which turned into a passion. Then, the passion became a career.
The necessity for natural.
Ava was at a loss. Her daughter had been in the world for six months and was nearly perfect. She had beautiful bright eyes, ten fingers, and ten chubby toes. It seemed that almost everything was exactly how it should be.
Yet, there was one thing concerning Ava. Her daughter – at such a young age – had terribly dry skin. So, Ava set out to try to fix this. It didn’t end up being a quick fix. Ava tried all sorts of soaps, creams, and lotions. Yet, product after product, nothing seemed to help.
Not being one to give up, Ava read that coconut oil soaps could help. While preparing to purchase her first bar, she thought, “Maybe I can make that.” After all, it was just soap. There couldn’t be much to it. So, after gathering all the ingredients – Ava’s first bar of soap was made – in a crock pot.
Ava discovered that she had a passion for soapmaking. She truly loved it. She enjoyed creating her formulas and soon branched out into making shampoo. Ava knew that she could create a better product than was found in the store. Her daughter’s now healthy skin was a testament to the power of all-natural ingredients.
So, in 2017, Ava Quin’s Soap Company was born.
Why was a new soap needed, though? Ava had tried everything and couldn’t heal her daughter’s skin until she began using all-natural, organic ingredients. There lies the key to great personal care products.
Just like you can’t make a gourmet meal from canned and boxed ingredients, you can’t make great soap with chemicals and inorganic additives.
It takes attention and care to produce quality, thoughtful products. That’s something that large corporations are unwilling to do. It’s too demanding and time-consuming, and the profits are not there. Not the profits they want.
Corporations use many readily available chemicals to cut corners and mass-produce personal care products. These chemicals can strip the oils from your skin. They can also cause a reaction in many people. Let’s look at four not-so-healthy, common ingredients.
These are ingredients you will not find in Ava Quin’s soap.
This is a highly soluble (dissolvable) white solid. It is a salt that results from neutralizing ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (yeah, that sounds good for your skin). It’s widely used as a stabilizer in cosmetics and personal care products. It helps prevent deterioration and discoloration.
In other words, this highly processed chemical helps keep products on store shelves for a long time, and they still look great.
Here is another great chemical compound. It’s classified as a soap since it’s derived from a fatty acid. So, it’s a common ingredient in commercial soaps.
Here’s the kicker about this “soap.” It’s also a permitted “bleaching” and “peeling” agent. That sounds lovely for your skin. No wonder many people tend to have reactions to it.
Well, at least titanium dioxide is a naturally occurring mineral. It is used as a white pigment in many products, including paint and, oh yeah, the soap you use on your skin.
It’s a white solid, and it’s insoluble in water. That’s right, it doesn’t dissolve in water without help from other chemicals. This also, of course, has been known to cause skin reactions in people.
A group of chemicals used to make plastics more durable. Phthalates are often called plasticizers. These chemicals are known to be endocrine-disrupting.
The great news is these hormone-altering chemicals can be found in hundreds of products, from vinyl flooring to lubricating oils and personal care products such as soaps, shampoo, and hair spray.
Exposure to phthalates has been linked to an increased risk of cancer, asthma, allergies, and learning and behavioral difficulties in children. These are chemicals you do not want around you or your children.
As stated earlier, you will not find these chemicals in Ava Quin’s products. She is committed to producing the finest vegan, gluten-free, all-natural, and organic products.
Since creating her company, she has ditched the crockpot and now uses a cold-press method for making her soaps and other care products. This method ensures you get the full strength of the all-natural oils and organic fruit juices she adds to her products. Plus she adds cold press juices to her soaps, which is a game changer.
Ava is dedicated to creating products that are safe and just as effective as anything laden with nasty chemicals, from soap, deodorant, and shampoo to makeup.
As one of Ava’s best sellers, check out this all-natural deodorant to freshen up your day.
