Finally, you are finished. You throw your head back and stretch your neck. The reports are finished, and your boss will be pleased. This power session was just what you needed.

You feel a great sense of accomplishment and power down your computer. The day is done. Over the last four hours, you have done nothing but stare at your screen and type, research, and stare at your screen more.

Exhausted, you push yourself away from your desk. You throw your personal items in your bag and stand up. Then it hits you.

You turn and look at the wall, staring at the art deco print that has been there since you started with the company. The regular crisp lines are hazy, and the images seem to melt together. Something seems off. It doesn’t look right.

The light emitted from the sun and artificial light comprises a spectrum of colors. These colors are:

  • orange
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Indigo
  • Violet
  • Blue

Visible in all light, the color of great concern to eye care professionals is blue light. Blue light causes much strain on the eye because it has a shorter wavelength and higher energy than other colors.
