Health, Lifestyle, Sport – A Way to Live Actively After Forty: Meet Tomek, the Devoted Dad on the Move

At 40, Tomek is proof that it’s never too late to embrace an active lifestyle—even with a full-time job and parenting duties. Tomek, an exemplary father who is deeply committed to his family’s health, has figured out how to put himself first without letting his duties slide. Rather than making a dramatic entrance, he began his fitness adventure by quietly deciding to give movement a fair go.

“For years, staying active was something I did occasionally—when I had time,” Tomek says. “But a few years ago, I decided to take it seriously. Once I did, everything changed.”

Today, Tomek trains three to four times a week. His routine isn’t rigid—it shifts depending on life’s demands. Sharing custody of his daughter week-by-week means that some weeks are more family-centered, while others allow for more personal time and workouts. Whatever the case may be, he always makes sure to move his body.

He now finds solace in running, particularly 5K distances, which provide him with the intensity he seeks and the joy of surpassing his limitations. He intends to break that threshold shortly, even if he hasn’t participated in a formal race just yet. Along with that, he has started going to the gym regularly in the past few months. He had some reservations at first, but he soon warmed up to the atmosphere and now does cardio, CrossFit, barbell, and yoga on a rotating basis.

“The variety is what keeps me interested”, Tomek says. “My physical and mental strength are tested in new ways with every session.”

He enjoys working out with friends and on his own, finding a happy medium between the two. This consistency hasn’t gone unnoticed. Friends often ask how he stays so committed.

“I haven’t made extreme changes—no special diets or hardcore regimens, just steady effort. After a workout, I feel stronger, less stressed, and more energized. That’s motivation enough.”

For Tomek, it’s not about aesthetics or records. It’s about longevity. “I want to be the dad who can run, jump, and be silly with my daughter—not just now, but for many years to come.”

His lifestyle, like his fashion, is sporty-casual—comfortable yet intentional, like his philosophy: Balance above all.

“Work and balance—that’s my motto,” he says with a grin. “Pretty good one, right?”

In a world where busy schedules often win, Tomek’s story is a reminder that health and happiness can coexist with commitment and care—especially when driven by love, purpose and a good pair of running shoes.
