Space Cadet Soap: Making Bathtime Enjoyable for All Ages

Using soap to wash our hands and bodies is one of the best things we can do to keep ourselves healthy. But can it also help to create a sense of peace and tranquility while capturing the beauty and whimsy of everyday life? Well, thanks to Space Cadet Soap, it can.

You have probably heard these questions asked over a million times when you were a kid: did you wash your hands? Did you use soap? Sure, they can be annoying at times. You want to get back to doing what you love and not worry about something as silly as soap and washing your hands, right? However annoying those questions might have been, they can save your life, albeit in a small yet effective way. Germs can be found everywhere. No exaggeration: this is definitely true. They can be found in the air and just as much on surfaces. If they get into your body, there is enormous potential for them to make you seriously ill. And soap is your primary defense against them.

To get down to the nitty-gritty, soap is a mixture of fat or oil, water, and an alkali or essential salt. When it comes to the first soap ever created, the credit goes to the ancient Babylonians for being the first people known to make soap. Their soap recipe included animal fats, wood ash, and water and was carved into clay containers that date back to 2800 BC. It was likely used to wash wool and cotton materials so they could be woven into cloth instead of cleaning their bodies. The ancient Egyptians developed a similar soap recipe, which was for treating sores and skin diseases as much as it was for personal washing. At the same time, the Romans made soap a physician’s tool for treating diseases, but it wasn’t until much later that it was used for personal hygiene. The basic soap recipe is still the same, but when these particular ingredients are combined in the correct proportions, they then go through a process known as saponification, which makes soap.

Contrary to widespread belief, soap does not kill the germs on our hands and bodies; it simply removes them. Germs will stick to all the oils and grease on your hands, but water alone will not remove them since water and oil do not mix. Soap can be mixed with oil and water because soap molecules are surfactants, meaning they have one end that prefers water (Hydrophilic) and another that prefers oil (Hydrophobic). When washing your hands with soap, the soap molecules bind the water and oil molecules together simultaneously. Then, when you rinse your hands, the soap carries the germs away with the water. Frequent use of soap, not just by washing your hands but by using it in the shower and bath, can keep your skin healthy and free from all unpleasant odors. Believe it or not, soap is relatively easy and can often be made at home. Some people like making handmade soaps with fragrances that evoke peace of mind or a luxurious memory from their childhood. Companies like Space Cadet Soaps do just that.

Space Cadet Soap:

Space Cadet Soap specializes in making organic handmade soaps with delightful and whimsically named fragrances. This company was created, interestingly enough, by a homeschooling mom in southeastern Ohio known as Space Welch. She started making soap as a child while watching her grandmother make many things by hand. When she became a mother to three young boys, she started homeschooling them and needed a simple yet exciting project for them to do. In 2007, Space Welch and her boys began to make soap for their homeschooling project. Welch believed that soaps and other skincare products could nourish not only the body but also the soul and soon began to create their kinds of soaps while using all-natural ingredients and fragrances and coming up with decadent and creative names for them.

This sweet little homeschool project soon began to develop into a small business that sold soap and skincare products and quickly began to thrive. Welch soon made it her mission to create what she calls “Functional Art” that can turn a dull thing like bathing into something exciting and refreshing. Her soaps are often made with raw goat’s milk; some are made with tea or purified water. Organic base oils such as Olive oil, Shea butter, coconut oil, castor oil, and locally made beeswax are used. Many of Welch’s soaps are made explicitly for medicinal properties. Such as:

  • Poison Ivy Soap that can help with the bothersome symptoms of the infamous plant.
  • Germaphobe Soap is perfect for anyone with an extreme fear of germs and who wants the best kind of cleanliness.
  • Zit Face Soap, which is perfect for hormone-addled teenagers struggling with acne.

Space Cadet Soaps features thirty-five assorted flavors of soaps ranging from earthy to sweet and have varying degrees of exfoliation, but can all help give your skin the cleanse it deserves while making bathtime and shower time fun, exciting, and refreshing all at the same time. Two popular Space Cadet Soaps products include the Huckleberry and Lavender Soap and the Monkey Farts Soap.

Huckleberry and Lavender Soap:

Picture this scenario: It is Friday. You have just finished a long week of work and a long and stressful day. If you want to relax, the first thing to mind is to take a warm and relaxing bath. Baths can be a perfect way to wind down after a stressful day/ week and help to lower your stress levels. However, there is just one problem. You want to find the right kind of soap to give your body a thorough cleanse and help you relax, but you can’t find one anywhere. Don’t worry. Space Cadet Soaps Huckleberry and Lavender Soap are here to the rescue.

This soap contains the delightful fragrance of phthalate-free huckleberries and lavender sprigs for perfect exfoliation. It is made with raw goat’s milk to give it a smooth texture and includes an alkanet root powder that gives it a memorable deep purple hue. Both ingredients have additional benefits, such as the lavender’s ability to calm any stressed-out mind, while the huckleberry can provide antioxidants and vitamins that promote healthier skin. This delectable huckleberry scent will invoke memories of picking wild berries on a rough yet picturesque mountainside on a gorgeous spring day. The lavender can also remind you of your childhood home and its garden that featured countless beautifully scented flowers, including the sweet-smelling lavender that bloomed every springtime and was able to give you great peace of mind that you couldn’t find anywhere else.  Either way, the Huckleberry and Lavender Soap is guaranteed to provide you with a relaxing shower or bath while working to make your skin healthier. So, this is the soap for you if you want a soothing bath or shower time.

Soap is a common yet highly beneficial way to keep your hands and body clean, germ-free, and odor-free. The right ingredients can also help clear up acne-riddled skin and leave it feeling smoother than ever. As Space Welch herself learned, soap is also straightforward to make. For about 17th years, she has created an excellent and lucrative business out of naturally produced organic soaps that are guaranteed to make bathtime more fun and relaxing. However, there is a problem regarding toddlers and soap.

Many toddlers despise the idea of bathtime. To them, staying dirty is more fun than sitting in a dull bathtub for what seems like an eternity while their mommies sometimes scrub their faces a little too hard for their liking and often use soap that smells weird or doesn’t even have a scent. Fortunately, Space Cadet Soaps features many cleverly named soaps that have fantastical and even silly names, along with fresh organic scents that can make bathtime much more fun for your little one, especially with a soap named Monkey Farts Soap.

Monkey Farts Soap:

Are you the parent of a toddler who absolutely cannot stand bathtime? Then, you are not alone. Many parents struggle with getting their little ones to take a bath, and they usually dislike it for several reasons. Most of these reasons include sensory issues related to the tub, such as the water temperature, the feeling of water on their bodies, and even the feeling of strange-smelling soap washing their faces. If only bathtime could be an enjoyable experience for your little one. Thanks to the hilariously named Monkey Farts Soap, It can.

Don’t be fooled by the name. Space Cadet Soaps Money Farts Soap does not feature the rancid smell of a monkey’s behind. Instead, it features an enticing tropical fruit scent and features grated orange peels for prime exfoliation. This sope is perfect for silly, rambunctious children who love a good laugh. They will significantly enjoy going to school the next day, smelling fantastic, and bragging to their friends that they bathed in Monkey Farts. This soap is made with phthalate-free fragrance oil and raw goat milk like the others. So, if you are looking to make bathtime more fun for your little ones, then Monkey Farts Soap is here for you.

Soap is essential to help remove germs from our bodies and keep them clean and odor-free. It is also pretty straightforward to make at home, and with the right ingredients, it can also be used to create a relaxing mindset while you take a bath or shower. Thanks to a homeschooling mother from Ohio, Space Cadet Soaps can make showers more relaxing and bathtime more fun. The Huckleberry and Lavender Soap will immensely refresh and pamper your skin, all while giving off a calming sensation, while the Monkey Farts Soap can help your little ones enjoy bathtime and give their bodies the proper cleanse they need.
